To present recommendations to avoid ethnicity “corrections” when interpreting pulmonary function test (PFT) in patients and healthy people; to discuss consequences of removing lung volume ethnicity “corrections” in the interpretation of PFT results for people of non-European descent, if “uncorrected” z-scores are applied; to present several approaches to pulmonary function test interpretation that do not rely on ancestry.
